The Stock & Bond Markets - The outlook for the market is "sky blue and black" (to borrow the title from a Jackson Browne song) with good and disturbing news on the horizon. The economy is growing at what some suggest is a 4% annual rate for the first quarter of 2006 which would explain why bonds are down .29% year-to-date, the worst beginning of a year for bonds since 1999. With further rate increases likely, this limits the upside of bonds as well as spending from overburdened consumers which have driven corporate earnings the past few years. The stock market has been good with the S&P 500 and NASDAQ Indexes up 3-4% year-to-date but the Middle East seems to offer only bad news with instability and rising oil prices. While things look good from a corporate earnings standpoint now, the future could turn sky black and blue in a hurry.
CELEBRATING 26 YEARS Since 1980, I have been providing financial advice to investors and I'm proud to say that our service and performance (see "Bottom Line" section on the right) continue to be superior to the market and our peers. Thanks for your support.
Real Estate Bubble? - The National Association of Home Builders recently released a report suggesting more "prospective" buyers are canceling orders for new home purchases than they were just six months ago. While some (15%) claim job loss as the reason, 45% claim they can't sell their existing home and over 30% can't qualify for financing. There's also the concern that "flippers" who buy with the intent of quickly selling are moving away from the market with Toll Brothers (the largest U.S. home builder) reporting a 21% drop in contracts for new homes and cancellations at 8.8%, which is up from their historic 5-6% level. Buyers should hope for the best but be realistic in their expectations.

| The Bottom Line |
 |
| This is where we provide the performance of our conservative, moderate and aggressive portfolios and compare these to the S&P 500 and NASDAQ Indexes. While they are an important consideration, performance is only a portion of the evaluation investors should consider when evaluating investment management. Other considerations include the risk taken to generate the returns, the quality of the service, the reasonableness of the fees and, more important now than ever, the integrity of the investment manager.
