The Stock & Bond Markets - As goes January so goes the year according to Wall Street lore. And January was a good month (February's another story) with the S&P 500 rising 3% and the NASDAQ up 5%. Additionally, initial jobless claims unexpectedly declined while the number of Americans on unemployment benefit rolls dropped to the lowest level in almost five years. There are (always) economic warning signs as well including the productivity of U.S. workers declining in the 4th quarter of 2005 by the most since the 3rd quarter of 2000 while labor costs accelerated adding to concerns that rising wages and benefits may fuel inflation. What to do? Continue to diversify your investment portfolio across industries, asset classes and countries.
CELEBRATING 26 YEARS Since 1980, I have been providing financial advice to investors and I'm proud to say that our service and performance (see "Bottom Line" section on the right) continue to be superior to the market and our peers. Thanks for your support.
Real Estate Bubble? - The chief economist for the California Association of Realtors is predicting a slower ("soft landing") 2006 and maybe she's right. The National Association of Realtors Index based on pending sales of existing homes dipped 5.5 percent in December compared to December 2004, and slipped 3 percent from November 2005. Pending sales have dropped steadily from a record index of 129.2 last August, the association reported, to 116.4 in December 2005. Overall mortgage applications dropped 5.1 percent last week on a seasonally adjusted basis from the week before with purchase loans taking the biggest hit, the Mortgage Bankers Association reported. And so, dear reader, is the housing market is taking a breather before resuming it's ascent or anticipating a more troubled 2006? Feel free to respond.

| The Bottom Line |
 |
| This is where we provide the performance of our conservative, moderate and aggressive portfolios and compare these to the S&P 500 and NASDAQ Indexes. While they are an important consideration, performance is only a portion of the evaluation investors should consider when evaluating investment management. Other considerations include the risk taken to generate the returns, the quality of the service, the reasonableness of the fees and, more important now than ever, the integrity of the investment manager.
